3:00 p.m.         Pain Management at the End-of-Life: A Physician's Self-Study Packet -- Laurel Coleman, MD, CMD, FACP
This workshop is based on the self-study packet published by the Maine Hospice Council and Center for End-of-Life Care. It covers the clinical issues, ethical considerations and common myths of pain management. The workshop is accredited for 2 Category One CME credits and the Self-Study Packet is accredited for 3 Category One credits. Join us for dinner at 5:30 in the Owl’s Head Room

5:30 p.m.         The Future of Hospice and Palliative Care in Maine: A Physician Roundtable -- David F. Giansiracusa, MD
Conversations with medical colleagues don’t seem to happen frequently enough, especially in the fast growing hospice and palliative care arena. Hospice and Palliative Care physicians are invited to gather for dinner at 5:30 in the Owl’s Head room for conversation regarding institutional challenges, models of "best practice" and strategies for the future.

5:30 p.m.         Let’s Talk: New England State Pain Initiatives Collaborating for the Future
Join us at 5:30 in the Spruce Head room for dinner and a lively discussion of what individual New England State Pain Initiatives are doing and how we can collaborate in the future.
