The Long-term Care Ombudsman Program

§         Investigates and resolves consumer complaints.

§         Advocates for consumers

§         Protects consumer’s rights

§         Answers questions and supplies information to consumers

§         Guides consumers through a complex long-term care system

§         Explains the assessment/eligibility  process to consumers

§         Represents consumer’s interests before state and federal government by working to change laws, regulations and policies that affect consumers

§         Someone interferes with the rights, health, safely or welfare of the long-term care consumer
